On 28 June 2016 and on 1 July 2016 , the sustainable interior design and decoration training and business networking took place in Chongqing and in Kunming, respectively. In total, 114 participants attended the courses. The majority of participants came from SMEs from the building materials sector in Chongqing and Yunnan. The training was supported by all Chinese partners, Susbuild associate partner econet China, and local authorities.
Session 1: Sustainable interior installation and building industrialisation. In this session, Mr. Liu Gang, Director of CSP R&D centre of China Academy of Building Research, presented the overall development of sustainable interior installation and building industrialisation worldwide and in China, national policies of building industrialisation, case studies, and future development trends of sustainable interior decorations and building industrialisation in China.

Session 2: Local practices in sustainable interior decoration and building industrialisation in Chongqing and Yunnan. Local experts presented local actions, challenges and opportunities, policies, and good practices of sustainable interior design and decoration in both regions.

Session 3: The selection of interior sustainable decoration materials based on German standards. As a certified DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council) auditor, Mr. Hans Niemann from energydesign presented DGNB's methodology of selecting sustainable materials, its feasibility, its application in the actual projects, and its future perspective.

Session 4: Look and Listen in Green. Mr. Yi Liqun from Sto, introduced light, sound environment and air quality as key indicators of indoor environment and their substantial impact on human health and comfort. An innovative acoustic ceiling system can easily improve the indoor environment by realizing an appealing design, a comfortable light and sound environment and even a much higher space utilization rate for people.

Session 5: Networking among Chinese and German interior decoration companies, local authorities, sector association and R&D institutes. During the training, local SMEs, German interior decoration companies, local authorities and local R&D institutes had exchanges and discussions on how the sustainable interior decoration and building industralisation in western China could achieve high sustainability criteria and how the market demand for sustainable interior decoration and building industralisation in western China could be created and developed.
